BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR LIBRARY

Our library is endowed with highly qualified academic and professional staffs who work hard to satisfy students and staff needs.  This is achieved by being receptive and innovative, effecting efficient management focused on continuous improvement of our resources and facilities.
Kam college library is the collection of health/medical resource. Its main function is to provide library and documentation services to support health/medical services, research and teaching. The KCHS library has two main divisions: technical services (Cataloguing and Classification): and Information Desk and Special Reserve.

Since its establishment in 2010, the library has strived to facilitate effective teaching, learning, laboratory researches and knowledge exchange at the college through the provision of qualitative, flexible, diverse and user-centered information services and resources.
This is so that to fulfill the vision of our college which is to be a centre of Excellence in the production of competent and qualified health professionals in different fields who will provide health care services in a variety of setting both national and international level

It  has a lot of collection of health and medical information materials, which includes electronic information resources such as CD-ROM.
The broad area covered includes Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health and Basic Sciences.  The collection currently comprises about 9598 volume.
It also  has a mixture of content materials generated from different parts of the world. Some health information materials are obtained from the MHCDGEC/NACTE such as curricula.
The library has an outstanding academic theological collection of more than 4,000 books covering all fields’ mainly medical books and few of general science.
It  offers reading rights, borrowing and an enquiry service to students. Short term residential visitors may use the library during their stay for a small charge.

Journals, photocopier, internet access (WiFi access is freely available for library members, please ask for the password) electronic books, CD’S, Medical posters and charts.
